
Spring is here already, winter is gone and pretty soon everything will be painted in all shades of beautiful, vibrant colors, flowers will be blossoming and temperature will simply rise, bringing us all the goodness and freshness of this season: leafy greens and first fruits of this year. Sounds pretty nice, right? It is a new beginning, a fresh start for all of us, a great time to clean our bodies and our digestive systems and of course a wonderful way to enjoy more fresh and raw foods because now their season begins.
Spring is a lovely time of the year because lots of greens can be grown starting now and this makes it easy to get the best quality produce available on the market, grown in sustainable ways and local. It is an important aspect to focus on the products that come from nearby areas because those products have the most nutrients available as they only travel a small distance from the farmer to your dinner table. This is also an important economic factor as it is best to support the honest farmers which really take care of their produce and believe in the natural, organic way of growing their plants. Sometimes we just have to do a little bit of research in order to find those good meaning people but they are definitely somewhere pretty close to us.
Greens are great food choices to enjoy in the upcoming spring season because now they are so fresh and abundant and help us clean our bodies, detoxify our blood and get rid of all the bad stuff.
