Apple Pie

It is summer season and it is time for a refreshing treat made with fresh and crisp red apples, delicious raisins and amazing spices such as cinnamon and vanilla.

A raw vegan apple pie is great for hot summer days, it is delicious and fulfilling and a great source of healthy fats from sunflower seeds, antioxidants from spicy cinnamon and a great source of fiber from the fresh apples. It is a lovely choice for a healthy snack or dessert at any time of the day.

The ingredients that we need for this recipe are:

Crust

200 g sunflower seeds

vanilla

100 g raisins

cinnamon

1 tbs coconut oil.

Apple filling

1 apple

1 cup water

100 g sunflower seeds

3-4 tbs agave nectar

3-4 tbs coconut oil

1 tbs cocoa butter.

Mix those ingredients using a blender for the apple cream and a food processor for the crust and then place them on top of each other and add some more apple slices on top of the apple cream and sprinkle some cinnamon, agave nectar and vanilla.

Now we just have to leave it in the freezer for a few hours and then we can take it out of the freezer and enjoy a healthy slice of delicious goodness apple pie.
