Delicious Salads

Salads are absolutely amazing. I think that eating all kinds of greens and veggies is a wonderful thing that you can do for your lovely body. Greens and veggies are your body`s best friends and that is a pretty nice thing to say. Nowadays we can find all kinds of salad mixes already packed and this makes our lives so much easier when it comes to including diversity in our day to day lives.

There are all kinds of leafy greens that we can find included in those salad mixes or we can even make our very own salad mix at home. All we have to do is get the individual salad varieties and mix them at home. There`s a large diversity of plants that we can choose from when it comes to making delicious and savory salads. Some of those gorgeous beauties are: romaine, bok choy, spinach, valerian, arugula, baby spinach, frisee, iceberg, lettuce, radicchio etc. Most of them have green leaves but radicchio for example has purple leaves and looks great when added to any salad. Some of them are crunchy, some of them are smooth and of course some of them are sweet and some of them are bitter but they are all great for our health. Including as many variety as possible  in our food choices is definitely a good thing because we need various nutrients, vitamins and minerals that we can only get by having diversity in our food choices.

Salads have been around since like forever but this does not mean that we should underestimate their nutritional value or their looks. Of course for some people a salad is a tasteless choice but this is just a result of an image that they picture for themselves of how a salad should be. There are so many tastes and textures that can be found through and by eating salads that it is actually amazing to see how easy it is to live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.

The best ways to serve salads are by mixing them or serving them next to a delicious dressing, veggie pate or spread, or even just by themselves, sprinkled with a mix of seeds, cold pressed oil of choice, nutritional yeast flakes and lemon juice. It is literally that simple to make a delicious salad and it just takes a few minutes. A little reminder here is the fact that nutritional yeast is a great source of B vitamins and most brands are also fortified with B12 which is a great addition to any diet, be it vegan or non vegan, so the benefits of nutritional yeast are great for pretty much anybody. It also tastes absolutely delicious.

This being said I hope you will give those delicious salads a try and even if they are not yet to be considered a full meal for yourself remember that you can always use them as a side dish. In the meantime they will definitely became main dish, but just start by making small steps and you will see that once you start eating salads on a constant basis you will definitely get to love them and even crave them. Greens are great for our health so you can enjoy those benefits no matter how you chose to serve them, just get those goodies on your table and enjoy their delicious and tasty flavors. Yum!
