
Now it is time for the next recipe on my Christmas series of blog posts so I thought that sharing a delicious and sweet almond drink recipe with you would be a wonderful idea. Making nut milks and drinks and using them on their own or even incorporating them in a large variety of smoothie recipes is absolutely amazing. Almonds are definitely a great source of calcium, magnesium, vitamin E and riboflavin (used for increasing energy levels, boosting immune system functions, maintaining healthy hair, skin and nails etc). Almonds are also a wonderful source of dietary fiber, monounsaturated fatty acids (which can help to reduce bad cholesterol levels) so those goodies are absolutely a delightful choice for a healthy drink.
This almond drink recipe is really easy and simple to make and all that we need are the following ingredients:
1/4 cup almonds
1 cup water
5 dates
maca, cinnamon powder.
We use a blender to mix the ingredients until we get a white beautiful smooth drink. Next step is optional but you can do it if you wish so and it is about straining the almond drink. You can use a strainer to do that or a nut milk bag, but I usually just leave it as it is because I am going to use it for smoothies anyway. So, in case you want to drink it on its own it might be a good idea to strain it and of course you can use the pulp for making some delicious almond cookies. YUM!

I love to sprinkle it with some more maca and cinnamon powders on top and keep it in the fridge for about 2-3 days. You can enjoy it with some cereal flakes, raw vegan cookies, bars or cake slices or you can just simply drink it on its own. Almonds are really great for our health and they make perfect companions for people trying to incorporate more healthy foods into their lives. They are tasty, delicious and fulfilling and you can use them for all kinds of recipes such as: veggie spreads, cakes and cookies, smoothies and healthy drinks.
