Sweet Choices

There are a lot of products out there on the market that might be calling themselves healthy sweeteners, but when it comes to providing real and actual nutritional value to the consumer, few of them actually do. Sometimes healthy sweeteners are just called so in terms of having a zero caloric income for the body, but this does not mean that they are actually safe for us to consume. I do believe that in order to be able to make healthy, fulfilling and nutritious choices that provide actual nutrition for our bodies we do have to keep ourselves informed and to even question the decisions that we make in terms of health so that we can be sure that we are doing the best we can to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.

Many products that are available on the market are so heavily processed that they no longer relate to any kind of possibility of calling them actually healthy, sometimes it is just marketing strategies, trying to hide the facts and sell as many products as possible. But we, as informed and conscious consumers, we have a choice to vote every time we purchase something and anytimes we buy something. We do vote for a better world by making conscious and fulfilling choices that support our health as well as our environments health and sustainability. So what are the good sweeteners available our there on the market? I believe that the best sweet choices are the foods that are naturally sweet and filled with nutritious properties such as fruits, dried fruits and even some pretty healthy alternatives such as agave or coconut nectar or sugar. There are also other plants such as stevia or lucuma, carob or maple syrup and so on. It is best still to keep in mind the way we are going to use them as well and what are the other ingredients that will be a part of the recipe that we are trying to make. Just because the sweetener is healthy doesnt make the hole recipe a healthy and nutritious one.

With these things in mind, we might find it useful to make changes one step at a time in order to incorporate healthy sweets and treats into our lives while also having in mind the idea that a holistic approach to having a happy healthy and fulfilling life is actually the best way to go. All the ingredients that we put into the foods that we eat and the recipes that we make matter so when it comes to sweet treats it is not only that the sweetener is so called healthy but the other ingredints have to be chosen mindfully as well. Pure nutrition and conscious and aware choices are helping us build a sustainable life, have a deeper sense of being connected to our true selves and explore the world coming from a place of abundance and grace.
