Sleep and Relaxation: Supplements

Recently I have been experiencing lots of changes in my day to day lifestyle, from my daily routine to the place where I live, of course, the basics have remained the same, but sometimes, even something as simple as changing your environment can be a pretty significant source of stress and a not so funny place to be at. Sleep and relaxation are very much influenced by those factors and even though I used to consider my self to be a pretty balanced person at this point in time and space in my life, the truth is that sometimes its ok and normal to feel insecure or just disturbed. It might take a while, due to various changes in our day to day living, to be able to reestablish healthy patterns when it comes to all of our habits and routines: eating, sleeping, exercising and of course, our spiritual practices. When our minds start to run in circles and we might be thinking that we are loosing control over our own existence, that might be the time when some very wisely chosen supplements can be extremely helpful in allowing and preparing us to ease into the changes that might occur.

I consider supplements to be a very useful tool in implementing and also maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle, while also bringing us the valuable nutrients that our bodies need so much and also providing us with amazing resources to keep working towards our goals, dreams, wishes and desires. When it comes to relaxation and overcoming the stress factors of our day to day living things like 5-HTP, GABA and Rhodiola can be extremely helpful in bringing us back into a state of balance and flow as well as a peaceful state of being. 5-HTP is very helpful for example with mood and appetite, as well as a helpful factor in increasing serotonin levels, which helps with depression or depression like symptoms, while also being a great support for sleep by increasing melatonin production. Melatonin of course, can also be taken by itself and it provides great sleep support, along with Passion flower and Valerian extracts. GABA is also great for helping the body relax and enhancing the process of falling asleep and of having healthy sleeping patterns, while also alleviating stress and anxiety. Last, but not least, Rhodiola is also great for increasing the body`s natural resistance towards stress, therefore making us able to better handle stressful situations in general.

Of course supplements are not everything, but just one part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle, but the truth is that those can be very helpful and meaningful during times of discomfort or uncertainty of any kind. Right now, due to the pandemic situation, there are lots of people affected by the changes that are taking place across the globe, so we all have to be taking great care of ourselves in order to be able to navigate through those perhaps very difficult and uncertain times. In order to do this, we do need proper sleep and the ability to relax and let go of what does not serve us anymore, so that when we get back on our feet, ready to conquer the world and make all our dreams come true, we come from a place of compassion, grace, and kindness, so that we are then able to live life to its fullest and be happy, healthy and fulfilled on a day to day basis. Next week we will continue to dive deeper into this amazing topic of healthy sleep and relaxation and find out even more amazing information. Until then, have an amazing week and if you do decide to give those supplements a try or have been using them in the past, leave a comment down below and share your own experience so that we can learn from each other along the way.
