Today I am going to share with you some of my favorite supplements, and since it has been a pretty stressful time for myself lately, most of the supplements are going to be about detoxification, relaxation and of course overall well being and health. Supplements can be a great addition to a healthy balanced lifestyle as they help us improve our health condition, without relying on just them. Supplements are a part of a healthy balance lifestyle and when used properly can really enhance and positively contribute to better performance and overall improvement of well being and a sense of constant care of oneself. I usually do take B12, as it is a very important part of the vegan lifestyle, and also vitamin C and Vitamin D as parts of a healthy immune system as well. But today, is not really about those basics, but mostly about a few supplements that I have found to be super useful in times of challenges and increased stress levels. We are all unique individuals so many times the effects of a specific ingredients might differ from one person to another, therefore be mindful and be truthful to whatever works best for yourself and when needed also feel free to consult with a (holistic) doctor or nutritionist for a little bit of guidance along the way.

Therefore, I would say two of the most important supplements that I have been taking lately are 5-HTP and GABA which are amazing at both improving the relaxation responses of the body for example during sleep and also through out the day. They do not cause sleepiness, well at least in my case, and I have also noticed significant improvements in not only my sleep quality, but also my ability to relax and to just improve my overall mood on a day to day basis. Melatonin can also be great when experiencing sleep issues, but for me personally I have seen the best results with those two amazing goodies: GABA and 5-HTP. I think they are just perfect for the times that I am going through right now, still if you would like to give those supplements a try, you can always consult with your doctor and also perhaps take melatonin, valerian or passion flower into account, which are also usually recommended for sleep improvement or better relaxation practices.
On the detox side, I love chlorella and spirulina, and I think they are just simply amazing, also as healthy concentrated protein sources and also for regulating our overall well being and health, contributing in a positive and supportive way. I also love green teas of all kinds, and of course matcha is also on my list for favorite supplements. I use matcha for making teas, which I personally love to enjoy with some coconut milk, but also for green nutritious and delicious smoothies. Matcha is great for me in the morning as I find it to be a great source for energy and positive vibes. One last thing for energizing and toning the brain more specifically that I have been taking lately, but not really on a regular basis, is a supplement called Brain Support which is a really interesting mix that can also help during stressful times, especially when we are involving lots of new learning and developing of new skills this can be a great support. It does contain polen, and I have to say that after doing a little bit of research and coming across multiple views, I do agree with Dr. Gabriel Cousens on this one, that for medicinal properties, used occasionally and from sustainable resources this can be ok, even for vegans. Still, when in doubt consult with a doctor or nutritionist and always do what fits best into your own unique needs, desires and goals as an amazing human being that you are.
