Coffee is just amazing! I know it is a controversial drink under specific circumstances, but for me I would say it is just part of my daily rituals and routines. Yes, coffee is vegan, and I know, its not raw vegan, but it still has amazing benefits and a wonderful taste, I believe. Coffee, along other vegan choices are what helps me stay flexible in my approach towards living a healthy, balanced lifestyle, and while I do place a big emphasis on raw vegan foods, which represent 75% of my diet, I also like to leave some space for other choices, aproximately 25% of what I consume will fall into the vegan diet and lifestyle choices. I believe that allowing myself to be this flexible is a good thing, it allows more flexibility and also focuses on actual progress not perfection. For so long I tried to reach a 100% of something on a regular basis, thinking of it as being the ultimate solution for a thriving life, when istead it only created more stress and more pain or discomfort inside my body as a result of those circumstances. But then, as time went by, I realized that what I really need is a state of balance and flow and now I am so proud to say that I am finally able to acknowledge that this amazing state of balance and flow can be achived and sustained by many ways of living and being, not just trying to fit into somebody`s model, but actually creating that model for ourselves by constantly testing and experiementing, listening to our own unique bodies and own unique needs and just allowing things to unfold naturally in a healthy, sustainable way. I love a good ritual and if that ritual brings me peace and comfort while also some health benefits for me it is enough to be able to sustain it and celebrate it on a day to day basis.
My own coffee ritual, drinking it in the morning, or right after a meal, or just going out for coffee with a dear friend or family member is just a wonderful practice, of course we can always make better or more conscious and sustainable choices by actually selecting an organic brand or even by doing a coffee fast from time to time to just then be able to enjoy its taste and amazing health and wellbeing benefits even more. For example, I personally love to go on a coffee fast from time to time, it can be for just one day, or 2-3 days or even for a longer time, like a week or so. Its just amazing how flexible our bodies are in adapting to changes in habbits, patterns and routines, its absolutely fascinating, and for me its always such a blessing to then see how my body reacts and how it rebalances itself and of course, ultimately how I am then able to enjoy coffee even more. I really do not think that we need coffee, I believe that due to rituals or social circumstances we are just making a choice towards wellbeing and we are just simply reaching our towards a “feel good” moment. Its trully and fully fascinating! Coffee is great as long as we acknowledge its benefits, we understand the choices that we make and the meanings that we bring towards our daily or weekly practices that might be including it and just as we understand each day better and better how our bodies react and interact with the different lifestyle choice that we make on a day to day basis. Coffee is a ritual, a routine, a passion, a great taste and also yes, most of us know this, a great source of antioxidants, including polyphenols, which are just a great support for having a healthy, balanced and just simply joyful lifestyle. Coffee is one of my favorite rituals and I am very happy to be sharing it all with you today!
