Starting May 2017 I made out from a random yoga practice, that I would do whenever I felt like it, a commited, daily, routinely practice that I kept up until today, and that is still an ongoing journey of constant learning, healing and growth. Of course, over the years, my daily yoga practice continued to evolve and grow, shift and implement new tools, new tactics and it is still an ongoing process as I just love it so much and I am really excited about all the amazing health benefits that it brings me on a regular basis. This is why, today I would like to share with you what this amazing, healing, mind blowing journey actually meant for me and what awesome and amazing benefits and states of mind it constantly brings me into so that I can continue to grow and practice yoga as a part of not only my daily habits or routines, but also as a tremendously important part of my well being, thriving, healing journey that is of course, as we all know already a life long cruise. I just love yoga and all the tools that it brings, at first I was a little bit stressed about the logistic stuff: when, how much, how should I integrate it into my day and so on and so forth, but after a while, by loosening the stress a bit, I commited myself to a daily practice of yoga. Honestly I started with 20-30 min, in the morning, because that`s when I felt it resonated with me and supported me the most and then I kept constantly growing up my practice from there and just kept building upon the foundation that I already had at that time. I linked it also to my morning journaling practice, to make it easier to implement as a habit and it all unfolded naturally afterwards. I knew, just like any other habit, that if I build up a bit of momentum from the start, with time it all gets easier and more organical. I know there are many myths out there about yoga and what a yoga practice would look or feel like, I am very excited to see that over the last few years a new image and understanding of yoga and yoga practice has evolved and continues to evolve, and I would say that for me personally is really all about connection, connection with ourselves as well as with a greater force of good that is available to guide us and support us at all times.
Today, I continue to do yoga, to extend my knowledge of the practices and to continually build up a practice that supports my well being and that has a wonderful contribution to my overall sense of health, well being and flow. I have experimented with yoga in the afternoon as well, and now I do yoga in the morning on a daily basis, and then for around 3-4 times a week I would also do an afternoon session. Also, with time and commitment, I have increased my practice time from 20-30 min to up to 40-60 min per session. This happend, of course over a longer time interval, I would say maybe 2-3 years, and then I just found that the perfect time interval for me for one session would be somewhere around 40-60 min, but I also have days when I do two 40 min sessions (3-4 times per week, one in the morning and one in the afternoon) or just one 80 min yoga session in the morning when I just feel like I need it or I just want to experience a deeper yoga session. In general, as already mentioned is around 40-60 min once a day or 3-4 times per week 2 sessions of 40 min, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, in addition of course to my daily walks, which I have already talked about in a previous post over my daily routines. I also love the other tools that yoga integrates, such as breathing exercises, meditations, diverse techniques and practices that involve being present in our bodies and just embracing the present moment exactly as it is. I remember that at some point I kept thinking that I should just continuously increase the time interval I was doing yoga in order to feel better and better, but then I realized that I have found the time interval that resonates with me the most, and that in fact what I was really looking for was that sensation of deep sync and connection with ourselves and with the present moment, being present in our bodies, with our feelings and so on that yoga brings up so beautifully. Now I know, that I have that union within myself and that I can tap into it always, at all times, and for that I am truly and fully grateful.
